Ambani upset with decision to kick Leopards out of FKF Cup

The Committee found Leopards guilty after their fans allegedly invaded Jomo Kenyatta Stadium, Mamboleo in Kisumu in the 89th to protest the referee's decision to rescind an earlier awarded penalty against hosts Mara Sugar FC in the round of 16, leaving the match abandoned.
“They have their own mission and if they have their agenda to promote certain things, so be it. If they think they have done the right thing let them do it. It is so wrong that with all these cameras and people know what happened yet you come up with such a ruling it baffles me.
"Which fans started invading the pitch if not Mara Sugar fans? Who provoked fans to enter the pitch?” angered Ambani questioned.
Ambani has called for fairness in officiating Kenyan football to give room for healthy competition.
“There is no way an official can award a penalty to us then the technical bench of our opponents surrounds him forcing him to rescind the penalty that even the Assistant Referee was in agreement with the earlier decision! Why the change of mind? Why not just be fair in officiating?” Ambani roared.
According to Ambani, what happened on March 8 was clear to all and that Ingwe had been robbed.
“Everybody saw what happened and that’s why we see teams that have not fairly won but are pushed to proceed. This is total match-fixing and it’s so wrong.
"We even have produced photos and clips of what happened but they don’t want to consider them. They are just seeing AFC (Leopards) as culprits and not Mara. That’s very wrong,” Ambani said.
The 12-time league Champions have now remained with FKF-PL to lean on for silverware as they currently sit fifth with 36 points from 23 matches.
They are behind leaders Kenya Police by nine points, with Police having played one more match.
The last time Ingwe put their hand on a league title was in 1998 and last won the FKF Cup trophy in 2017.
This translates to representing the country on the continental football in 2018 their last, which stretches the continental drought for now seven years.
