Alila censures Sports CS Amina over FKF Transition Committee
Former
Football Kenya Federation Nyanza National Executive Committee member Tom Alila
has discredited Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed for appointing individuals
with no interests in football to manage the game.
Alila
was reacting to the recent gazettement of the FKF Transition Committee members,
whom he says, a majority is not fit for the job.
In
an interview with our sister station Ramogi TV, Alila explained that if Nick Mwendwa
was the problem in Kenyan football then his deputy Doris Petra was best placed
to take over.
Taking
such a line, Alila reckons Kenya could not have been sanctioned by Fifa
Alila
also waded into the recently held FKF Special General Meeting noting that the FKF
branch officials who gathered at Moi Kasarani Stadium are basically out of
order.
“It
is sad to see a small country like Guinea, similar to that of Nairobi county
having more than sixty footballers playing in the English Premier League yet
Kenya with a population of over 45 million has no single professional footballer
in England,” Alila lamented, adding that Kenya has ‘no structures’ to develop
football and that is hindering the growth of the game, asking football
stakeholders to ensure they elect the right people when elections are called.
