Alamin wins Msa County FKF Chairmanship, calls for unified leagues

Alamin Ahmed Abdallah is the new Mombasa Football Kenya Federation Chairman after winning against incumbent chairlady Lillian Kazungu, in Thursday elections held at the Shanzu Teachers College.

Alamin won with a total of 26 votes, against Kazungu's 22 while Salim Ali was third with eight votes.

This was the second time Alamin was vying for the same position. In 2020, Lillian Kazungu won against Alamin.

Speaking after being crowned the new Chairman, Alamin was thankful to the delegates, adding it was time to change Mombasa football.

"It's a win for Mombasa football fraternity, we will work together with all the teams to make Mombasa a soccer hub. We will work hard to make sure there is only one league under FKF. Divisions are the cause of our downfall in soccer," he said, alluding to the rift created by County Association Leagues running concurrently with those of FKF.

Alamin who is also the Chairman of Division One side Congo Boyz will be deputised by Betty Kerubo, who is an active referee.

In the same election, Stephen Mureithi won the secretary position with a bang, 36 votes against incumbent Mahfudh Omar who managed 18, while Mohammed Salim was third with two votes.

"We will invite our competitors and work as one team and make Mombasa great again", Mureithi lemented.

Only Jones Kyalo "Viera" was re-elected back to his position in the Mombasa County polls, as a Youth Representative.
