AFC Leopards launch taskforce to decide club’s future
Shikanda, who disclosed that during the club’s launch of its new partners, said the taskforce would embark on a comprehensive tour of the AFC Leopards’ 85 branches.
“We are introducing a taskforce of eight dedicated individuals who will visit each of our branches to collect opinions from our supporters,” Shikanda said.
“Their feedback will be crucial in guiding our decision on the club’s future direction.”
The chairman noted that the current societal model had faced numerous obstacles, prompting the club to reconsider its operational strategy.
During the club’s 60th anniversary in March, the club officials underscored the importance of transforming AFC Leopards into a self-sustaining and profitable organization, a vision that aligns with modern football's evolving landscape.
“We have encountered significant challenges with the community model, and it has not delivered the results we need.”
The Vincent Shimoli-led taskforce was given a six-month time frame to complete their consultations and present their findings to the club’s top brass.
Other members of the committee are Alexander Muteshi, Richard Ekhalie, Nelly Mwashi, Ng’arua Kamuya, Bramwel Aino, Clarence Jumba and Laureen Aseka.
“The taskforce will have six months to gather and analyse feedback. Once their report is ready, we will review it and decide on the best path forward for the club,” Shikanda said.
The results of the taskforce will be announced at the club’s next Annual General Meeting (AGM), where the National Executive Committee will discuss the findings and decide on the future course of the club.
The members of the taskforce are as follows:
1. Vincent Shimoli – Chairman
2. Alex Muteshi - Treasurer
3. Clarence Jumba
4. Ngarua Kamuya
5. Bramwel Aino
6. Richard Ekhalie
7. Lorraine Aseka
8. Nelly Mwasi
