Speaking after the Red Bull Half Court 3x3 national finals in Nairobi, Hilmi, who is also the championship co-ordinator, said the exposure will motivate the young players for the future.
He said that such tournaments have also benefited the national teams by supplying them with quality players.
“Apart from winning, we have seen a lot of talent from this tourney which has been of great help to the national teams,” said Ali.
On his part, USIU Flames Captain Fridah Yakobo said that players across the country can sharpen their skills through more training and tournaments organised locally and internationally.
“The Red Bull Half Court Tournament has benefited players with trainings and also prepared us for bigger championships like the one to be held in the United States,” said Yakobo.
USIU Flames and Team Twende will represent Kenya in New York later in October this year, after emerging winners of the 3 on 3 championship’s third edition held over the weekend in Nairobi.
Teams from Mombasa, Nairobi, Kisumu and Eldoret took part in the tournament.
