KAIKAI’S KICKER: Appeal to Sonko to release the Nairobi revenue tapes
On my Kicker tonight, my curiosity is on a
spin. The reason being an undated video of former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko
saying very interesting things.
Now, this is no ordinary story, and Mike Sonko
is not an ordinary man – indeed, he is the former Governor of Nairobi, and he
was narrating how the city’s revenue was looted to the tune of hundreds of
millions every day; a story he claims he shared with State House, the highest
office in the land.
I have no way at this stage of corroborating
Mike Sonko’s story. But I could hear him talking about ‘clips.’ I suppose that
means video footage. Or maybe audio clips? And for those conversant with the
Mike Sonko ways, especially those out there who nicknamed him ‘recording artist,’
you are way more safer taking him seriously when he talks about ‘clips.’ But I
digress, in Sonko’s story, after State House, the DCI and the EACC also got
into the mix.
The story ends in suspense with the
digitization of revenue collection. But curiosity is tickling my pancrease;
what else could the Sonko clips contain? Maybe we should challenge the former
Nairobi Governor; hey bwana Sonko – release those clips! Release the tapes.
That is my Kicker!
