Ex-marathoner Samson Kandie
Rose Chepkemboi Rotich, who is among three other suspects accused of brutally killing Kandie stared at Justice Rebuen Nyakundi as he delivered the ruling on their bail/bond application before she fell down on her back and fainted.
The Judge was forced to put on hold all pending criminal matters that had been lined up for judgment and sentencing in the court.
Court orderlies moved swiftly as they struggled to lift up the murder suspect who was lying on the floor and rushed her to the holding cells within the courts.
Chepkemboi, Jamlick Morogit and Vincent Ngososei Kiprono are key suspects in the murder of former athlete.
The three have been in detention since their arrest by police detectives drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) unit on October last year.
Earlier, the Judge had denied them bail citing among other reasons interference of key witnesses, safety of the suspects should they be freed, and also their chances of failing to attend court when required to do so.
Kandie, a 53 year old former international runner was found dead at his house in Elgon View estate in Eldoret after he was brutally killed by unknown assailants.
The court directed that the case come up before on March 25, 2025 for pre-trial.
