'Wacha ujuaji!' DP Gachagua hits back at Julius Malema, tells him to respect President Ruto
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has slammed South African opposition
leader Julius Malema over his recent criticism of President William Ruto.
Speaking on Saturday during a church service at St. Thomas
Girls Secondary School in Kilifi, DP Gachagua told off the outspoken Economic
Freedom Fighters (EFF) party boss for meddling in Kenya’s political affairs.
While
terming him as ‘all-knowing’, Gachagua chewed out Malema for disrespecting the Head
of State as he urged him to cease interfering with the politics of other
countries and, instead, focus on his nation.
“Nimeona
ata mtu mwingine ametoka South Africa, hajui Kenya, ameingia tu asubuhi na
ameanza kusema mambo ya Kenya. Huyu amekuja ni mjuaji; amefika asubuhi, saa
nane mambo ya Kenya anajua ata kutuliko. Si mliskia? Tungetaka kuambia wageni,
wakitembea waheshimu viongozi wa ile nchi wametembea,” he said.
The DP
went on to fault Malema for addressing the issues of Kenya and forgetting the
issues affecting South Africa, which Gachagua claimed had more problems than
the former.
According
to Gachagua, during his last visit down South, he observed a power rationing of
up to seven hours but remained mum about the issue since it was none of
business.
“Sisi
akakuwa mjuaji.”
In the
same way, he advised tourists to visit Kenya solely for their destined
pleasures and to desist from intruding in the political affairs of the host
nation.
“We want to request our neighbouring leaders; if
you come to Kenya, visit the Coast, do your sunbathing, eat fish, go to Maasai
Mara, see the animals, then get on your flights and go back to your countries.
Mambo ya hapa mtuwachie sababu tukija kwenu mambo yenu hatuongei,” he noted.
During his
visit on Thursday to launch the Pan African Institute at Lukenya University, Malema faulted President Ruto for failing
to fulfil the promises he made to Kenyans in the run-up to the 2022 General
Election saying that his recent actions and his promises are as distinct as day
and night.
“I don’t know if President
William Ruto means it because he said so many things, and I can’t locate him
these days, because the things he said during the election and the things he’s
doing now are two different things,” he said then.
