Underground Premium: Inside Moyale's booming illicit trade of fuel from Ethiopia
With
the latest hike in fuel prices, Kenya now has the 12th most costly fuel in the
continent with a litre of petrol average retailing at over Ksh.200.
So
deep is the pain at the pump that motorists are finding it hard to keep their
engines running and ordinary Kenyans are being forced to dig deeper into their
pockets.
Subsequently,
illegal fuel products are now being smuggled into the country simply because
they are sourced at cheaper prices.

imports from neighbouring Ethiopia is booming.
