Uhuru marks Christmas with children from various homes
Former President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday, December
24, presented Christmas gifts to children at various homes.
The former Head of State encouraged Kenyans to embrace compassion and sharing during this festive
period.
“Once again Christmas is here; a time to remember and
apply our shared values of compassion, sharing and communion. We share this
holiday with all people of all persuasions because what we celebrate are
cherished universal human impulses. Let the holidays bring us closer to each
other so that collectively, we can lighten our burden and brighten our journey.
Happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year!” wrote Kenyatta.
In the photos shared on his social media, Kenyatta is
seen feeding cake to the children and distributing food items, a tradition he
has maintained annually.
Among the homes visited were the Mama Ngina Kenyatta Children’s Home, Mama Fatuma Goodwill Children’s Home, St Dorcas Educational Centre and Mary Faith Rescue Centre in Nairobi.
