Uganda: Arsenal fan killed over match against Man United

A 22-year-old man from Sheema District in Uganda is accused of killing an Arsenal fan following a disagreement over English Premier League match between Arsenal and Man United on Sunday.

According to the police, Jackson Aineruhanga was killed moments after Arsenal’s victory against Man United. The Two football fanatics were engaged in an argument after Manchester United player Alejandro Garnacho’s goal was disqualified for offside.

“It is alleged in the evening after the match, the two fanatics developed a misunderstanding while watching the match. The two later went to the bar and were ejected for causing a disturbance, and that is when the fight escalated,” Police spokesperson Marcial Tumusiime said as quoted by Monitor publication. 

According to Tumusiime, the suspect currently being pursued by the police after the victim whom he allegedly stabbed in the chest with a sharp object died.   

Tumusiime notes that there is an ongoing investigation and samples have been collected for further forensic tests.

 “ We visited the scene of the crime and found a piece of stick covered in blood stains and the suspects shoes,” he said.

 The victim’s body was taken to Kabwohe Health Centre for post-mortem
