UDA's Kimani Ngujiri loses Bahati MP seat to Jubilee's Irene Njoki

Incumbent Bahati MP Kimani Ngujiri
On
Thursday afternoon, Bahati Constituency Returning Officer declared Jubilee Party’s
Irene Njoki as the MP-elect, handing her a nomination certificate.
Njoki
garnered 34,308 votes and was followed by incumbent MP Kimani Ngujiri, who had 26,809.
The other
contestants in the Bahati MP race were; Quindos Karanja - 2,130 votes, Paul
Mwaura – 271 votes, Gathonjia James – 254 votes , Chege Mwangi – 198 votes and Richard
Kiboi – 63 votes.
Elsewhere,
Naivasha MP Jayne Kihara has retained her seat in the constituency after
clinching 44,882 votes.
She was
followed by John Kihagi with 24,891 votes and Solomon Ndegwa with 18,321 votes.
The
others were Anthony Rebo - 8,295 votes, Raymond Muiruri – 824 votes, John
Muthiora – 429 votes, Anne Wanjiru – 267 votes, Francis Ireri – 258 votes and James
Kinyua – 209 votes.
