UDA party receives 115 nomination results disputes

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has received a total of 115 disputes arising from the just-concluded nominations.

Addressing the media on Monday, the party's Electoral and Nomination Dispute Resolution Committee said out of the 115 disputes, 94 were for members of County Assemblies.

"34 of the cases have so far been dismissed, 24 results have been nullified and there were orders for a recount in four wards. The rest are yet to be decided," said the committee.

In addition, 15 cases for Member of the National Assembly were filed with one (Naivasha) having been nullified with the rest pending in court.

There were two cases filed for the Governor contest; Uasin Gishu and Kajiado.

Similarly there were two disputes filed for the Senate contest (Uasin Gishu and Embu) and one case of Woman Representative.

"The Committee has undertaken to complete all matters by Thursday 21st April, 2022," said the party.

"The Committee urges those dissatisfied with the outcome to take necessary lawful action through the appellate processes established by the law."

The Committee is made up of 9 members and has established 3 courts since the party constitution allows a sitting to have a quorum of three.
