UDA Founders Association calls for disciplinary action against Malalah
In a sharply worded statement, the Founders Association dismissed Malalah’s recent claims of still holding the Secretary-General position as "outrageous" and "preposterous." The statement suggests that Malalah's actions are part of a broader scheme to undermine the party from within.
"We view Malalah’s statement with the contempt it merits," the Association's Chairperson Joe Khalende said in the statement. "His remarks confirm our worst fears—that he has been collaborating with our detractors to sabotage the party."
The Founders Association reiterated their unwavering support for the recent leadership changes within the party, particularly the appointment of Hon. Hassan Omar as the interim Secretary General. They described Malalah’s behaviour as a betrayal of the party’s trust and a disruption to its progress.
"Malalah has developed a repulsive habit of sowing seeds of hatred and cultivating division among party leaders for his own parochial interests," the statement charges. It also highlights past issues under Malalah’s leadership, including accusations of "grand larceny, nepotism, ineptitude, and mismanagement."
In response to Malalah’s alleged misuse of party stationery and logo to communicate with the media, the Founders Association has advised staff members to refrain from engaging with him. They are also taking steps to seek Malalah’s expulsion from the party through disciplinary proceedings with the Internal Dispute Resolution Committee (IDRM).
"We are compelled to take immediate disciplinary action against Mr. Malalah and will apply to be enjoined in any petitions he may have filed," the statement asserts. "The party’s stability and progress are paramount, and we will not allow them to be jeopardized by self-serving individuals."
The Founders Association reassured party members of the ongoing stability and effectiveness under the leadership of Hon. Hassan Omar.
They emphasized that critical issues such as the audit of staff, review of procurement processes, and the implementation of President William Ruto’s Bottom-Up Economic Agenda (BETA) are progressing as planned.
