The Senate's Public Accounts Committee has expressed astonishment at stalled projects in Uasin Gishu County, as millions remain unaccounted for.

Led by Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang, the committee took Governor Jonathan Bii to task to explain why major projects commenced way back in 2022 are yet to be completed, as much more funds are being allocated to the same.

Kajwang said it's disheartening that key projects started way back remain white elephants, as taxpayers' money can not be traced.

The committee raised concerns about a 400-bed Ziwa level five hospital where over Ksh. 600 million has been used without much progress.

Over Ksh. 700 million has been spent on the construction of the 64 stadium as the committee indicated that the residents of Uasin Gishu do not have value for their money in the project.

The committee also took issue with former Governor Jackson Mandago's special needs assessment centre where over Kshs. 17 million has been paid to the contractor, and there is nothing to show.

Governor Bii told the committee that several projects were started by his predecessor, and it is difficult to complete them at the moment.
