Two shot dead by bandits in Baringo

The two, who were on their way to Nginyang market, were ambushed by suspected bandits who have now mutated and become highway robbers. The traders who were on police convoy were ambushed as two lorries were shot at.

The driver of one of the lorry tried to escape by foot after seeing the lorry which was ahead of them ambushed. The bandits sprayed bullets at the vehicle ,killing him on the spot while the other died in hospital.

Marigat-Loruk road has recently become a dreaded route with police providing escort to vehicle plying the route. According to locals, insecurity in the region has been increasing.

Tension has so far heightened in the area following the killings of the two motorists as police deployed to beef up security.

The bodies were taken to Baringo County hospital mortuary
