Two people arrested for brutal murder of 62-year-old man in Nakuru
A family in Gilgil, Nakuru County, is seeking justice after
their 62-year-old kin was hacked to death over an alleged land dispute.
An autopsy conducted on Kasarari's body at the Annex Funeral Home in Nakuru on Tuesday revealed that he was hacked more than 10 times by his killers using a machete.
Police in Gilgil have arrested two suspects in connection
with the murder.
The father of 10, was found dead on his parcel of land in
Gilgil on October 31st in what the family blames on a land dispute.
Six days since his body was discovered dumped on his 3-acre
parcel of land, the family is still in disbelief.
"Aliitwa na watu akaambiwa waende wazungumzie shamba,
kumbe yule jirani alikuwa armed…" said Israel Kasarari, Joseph’s son.
"The cause of death is partial decapitation, involving
the spinal cord. He had injuries on the head, neck, arms, and legs,” Government
Pathologist Titus Ngulungu said.
A ruling by a Nakuru court was slated to be delivered on
December 9th over the ownership of the contentious parcel of land.
"Haki yetu ni gani sisi kama familia…" Ezekiel
Musangi, Joseph’s son added.
Wycliffe Atika another relative said, “Tunauliza hizi
mauwaji zimekuwa mingi sana…"
Gilgil Sub-County Police Commander Winstone Mwakio says two
suspects have been apprehended, and police are also in pursuit of three other
suspects.
