Two arrested as police seize large quantities of bhang in Ruiru and Moyale

Police in Ruiru, Kiambu County have arrested two suspected drug traffickers and seized 800 rolls of bhang.
Tyson Mwai, 30, and Samson
Gathuki, 21, were apprehended at Kimbo area during a sting operation led by
Mugutha Police Station officers and local National Government Administration
Officers (NGAO).
“Authorities not only seized the
rolls but also discovered a range of bhang packaged in sachets: 13 polythene
sachets of 35 grams each, five sachets weighing 130 grams, 44 sachets of 16
grams, and two digital weighing machines, signalling a well-organized
trafficking operation,” said the DCI in a statement on X.
The pair remain in police custody
pending arraignment.
In a separate incident in Moyale,
officers on patrol intercepted a motorcycle, registration number KMGM 369D, carrying
100 kilograms of bhang.
“The rider abandoned the
motorcycle and fled. Upon inspecting the luggage, officers found twenty bales
of bhang inside the sacks, totalling approximately 100kgs,” said the DCI.
“The recovered narcotics and
motorcycle are securely detained as exhibits.”
A manhunt is currently underway
for the suspect who evaded arrest.
