Kabogo threatens to leave Kenya Kwanza over 'leaked' power-sharing deal

Tujibebe Party Leader William Kabogo has issued fresh demands to Deputy President William Ruto following the recent revelations on the power-sharing deal in the Kenya Kwanza coalition.

Kabogo, while referring to the deal, said nothing in the agreement appears to favour the Mount Kenya region and now wants the deputy president, who is the coalition’s flagbearer to shed some light on the issue.

“I want to send a message because I have seen the written document involving UDA, ANC and Ford Kenya. I did not go to UDA to look for a position,” Kabogo stated on Thursday.

“I told William Ruto while on our Dubai meeting, usiniulize mimi nataka nini, mimi staki kitu chochote ila mimi nataka raslimali igawanwe kulingana na wingi wa watu na akakubali.”

He went further to state: “Hio kitu sikuiona kwa hio maandishi. Leo nimempigia William Ruto nikamwambia ndugu nataka ufafanue hii kitu nimeona; nimeona mmegawa vitu upto 30 percent. Kama haitafanyika, sisi tutaondoka, ata tukiondoka tukiwa kumi mtakuja kujua ni nini nilikuwa nimeona.”

At the same time, the Kiambu gubernatorial aspirant pointed out that he himself was not interested in acquiring any position but rather ensuring that the Mount Kenya region would benefit in terms of distribution of resources if the DP clinched the presidency come August.

“Mimi staki ata one percent lakini nataka wakaazi wa mlima Kenya waweze kusaidiaka na hio serikali yake,” he noted.

In the said power-sharing deal as seen by Citizen TV, Kenya Kwanza coalition partners namely ANC’s Musalia Mudavadi,  Moses Wetangula (FORD-Kenya), Alfred Mutua (Maendeleo Chap Chap) and Amason Kingi (PAA) would get plum government positions, priority development projects among others.
