Motorists were forced to use alternative routes after the section was closed at Kyamwilu point where danger was looming.
The rock debris had aroused tension of a potential rockslide caused by the heavy downpour that had loosened the soil.
At the famous Kyamwilu Hill, youths who gain a living through demonstrating the bewildering phenomenon on how nature defies gravity to curious motorists said it was crippling their job.
It is here that a bottle of water or even water poured downhill defies the force of gravity and flows upwards endlessly, making it a tourist attraction site.
Last week, the authority had cautioned motorists against potential hazards due to falling rock debris at Kaloleni.
