Top Kenyan DJ arrested for allegedly beating senior police officer to death
A popular Kenyan DJ
has been arrested in connection with the fatal assault of a senior police
officer.
The top DJ, who is
presently detained at the Kabete Police Station alongside his bouncer, driver
and photographer, allegedly attacked Kabete Police Station Deputy DCIO Felix
Kelian on March 16, 2024.
The assault,
according to a police report seen by Citizen Digital, happened after the
officer was involved in a “non-injury traffic accident” on the said date at
around 4am within Kikuyu market.
Police are
allegedly pursuing more suspects including a woman who was reportedly at the
scene.
Another three
officers stationed at the Kikuyu Police Station were on Saturday evening arrested
in connection with the incident.
The three; Khadija
Abdi Wako, Sammy Rotich Cherono, and Agnes Kerubo Mugo, are currently being held
as suspects of murder of the senior cop.
Inspector Kelian
died on Friday while receiving treatment at the Nairobi West Hospital where he
was undergoing treatment for abdominal pains and other injuries sustained after
the alleged beating.
The body of the
Deputy DCIO has since been moved to the Umash Funeral Home as investigations on
the matter continue.
