Tiaty gets first Births registration office to make services easily accessible
Prior to the establishment of this office, people from the region had to travel over 230 kilometres to Kabarnet to obtain important documents like birth and identification certificates.
Dr. Julius Bittok, the Citizen Services Principal Secretary, emphasized that the new office would make the process more accessible and convenient for residents, urging locals to utilize the facility.
He also highlighted the challenges the region faced due to the lack of proper registration, which resulted in many residents, including children, missing out on government services.
Resident Clara Jematia praised the initiative, noting the hardships mothers endured while travelling long distances to obtain birth certificates for their children.
Maria Losile, the MCA for Loyamorok, also commented on the struggles faced by headteachers in the region, who had to camp in registration offices in Kabarnet to secure birth certificates for their pupils.
The establishment of the new office is seen as a significant step toward improving service delivery and reducing the logistical burdens on the local community.
