Three suspects charged with stealing mobile phones at Mombasa hotel

Three suspects have been charged with robbery at the Mombasa Law Courts.

The accused; John Odhiambo alias Bright, Bakaso Bashir alias Kasim and Erick Kamau alias Kamash, are said to have accosted two men at a hotel in Mombasa and robbed them of their phones.

According to the charge sheet, the suspects, while armed with a knife, stole from the two men a Huawei and Oppo phone with a cumulative value of Ksh.50,000.

The offence occurred on August 10, 2023, at Palm Breeze Hotel in Ganjoni area.

They denied the charges and were each released on a cash bail of Ksh.300,000 or a bond of a similar amount.

The accused are believed to be part of a notorious gang that has been snatching mobile phones from members of public in hotels and streets in Mombasa while armed with knives.
