Police said Joseph Mwangi, Peter Maina and Agnes Mshenga had been evading arrest until they were intercepted at a resort in Voi, along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway.
Police in Voi, Taita-Taveta County, said on Tuesday they arrested three suspected robbers along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said Joseph Mwangi, 40, Peter Maina, 36, and 32-year-old Agnes Mshenga had been evading arrest until they were intercepted at a resort along the busy highway.
Police said the trio was traveling in a

“Upon conducting a thorough search of the
vehicle, officers uncovered three sets of reflective number plates: KCR 879U,
KCA 583L, and KAZ 946L,” the DCI said.
“Additionally, the officers recovered a
range of suspicious items, including jungle uniforms, a kitchen knife, two
Maasai swords, and a mechanics kit loaded with spanners, a jack, pressure
pumps, puncture repair tools, brake pads, and various house-breaking
implements.”
The trio was taken to the Voi police station,
awaiting arraignment.
Elsewhere in Kitui County, police arrested
a man and recovered government stores at his house in Itiko village.
Ernest Musyoka, 33, was being sought for threatening
to kill and assault.
Police said they found Administration Police
(AP) officer sweaters alongside jungle belts, trousers, black berets, jungle
t-shirts, and green socks.
“Additionally, officers recovered an NYS
green sweater and two NYS shirts,” the DCI said on Tuesday.
He was held at Mutitu police station pending
