Three people injured after fire breaks out at Stem Hotel in Nakuru
Three people, among them two staffers and a
client, are receiving treatment at various hospitals after a fire broke
out at Stem Hotel in Nakuru on Wednesday afternoon.
Police reports indicate that a gas cylinder
in the kitchen section exploded leading to the fire that has left the three
with burns.
Firefighters from the Nakuru County government
and those from the Kenya Pipeline rushed to the scene and contained the fire
that was spreading fast to other areas.
However, property of unknown value is said to
have already been destroyed by then.
Nakuru Police Commander Beatrice Kiraguri
confirmed that the trio is receiving treatment and is currently in a stable
condition.
Nakuru Disaster Management Chief Officer Anne
Njenga on her part called for extra measures to be put in place to ensure
safety.
