Three die, two injured as car crashes into pedestrians in Kilifi

Three people have died and two others were injured in an accident in Kilifi County. 

The accident occurred Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at around 5:00 am along the Mariakani-Kaloleni Road.

It is reported that Stephen Fakur Rando was driving a Toyota Porte from Kaloleni, heading towards Mariakani, near Dam View Hotel, when he hit six pedestrians who were walking along the road. 

Three of the pedestrians, including a female adult and two male adults, were fatally injured, while two others sustained serious injuries.

Police added that the identities of the deceased are yet to be confirmed. The injured, including the driver, were rushed to Mariakani District Hospital for treatment. 

Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased were taken to Coast General Hospital Mortuary.

The scene was processed by the authorities, and the vehicle towed to Mariakani Police Station awaiting inspection.
