Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested three suspects, Patrick Njuguna Karogi, James Kiratu, and Susan Njoki Waithira, who are accused of drugging and robbing revellers in Nairobi.

Following a tip-off received through the "Fichua Kwa DCI" hotline, one of the victims gave an account to the detectives of how he was stupefied, robbed, and money withdrawn from his M-Pesa account.

Thereafter, the DCI detectives carried out an investigation, leading to the arrest of the trio, notorious for committing the vice.

The hotline has been instrumental in many arrests and tackling rising insecurity.

These incidents highlight a growing trend of criminals targeting people in clubs and drinking dens, using substances like Rohypnol, GHB, and Scopolamine to incapacitate victims.

These drugs can cause drowsiness, confusion, and even unconsciousness, making it easy for criminals to rob or assault their targets without much resistance from the victims.

Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant, watch their drinks, and report any suspicious behaviour.
