A man was on Sunday
morning beaten to death by residents of the Bugula area in Budalangi,
Busia County on suspicion of theft.
Area police boss
Isaiah Mose said the 40-year-old man, who has previously been linked to a
series of theft incidents, was accused of stealing from a shop alongside his
accomplices who escaped.
He was this year released
from prison in Korinda after completing a five-year sentence, Mose said.
Among the stolen items
the man was found with were rice and maize flour packets.
His body was taken to Port Victoria Hospital mortuary.
