T-Mall Bridge along Langata road officially opened to the public after 2 years
The government has officially opened the T-Mall Bridge along Langata road which has been under construction.
Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) posted a video on Friday after unveiling the flyover route that has been a headache for many motorists due to the traffic snarl up around the area.
In the video, a seamless flow of traffic
was witnessed on the busy highway.
Having been commissioned by President Uhuru Kenyatta at the beginning of
the year, the bridge is now free to use seven months later.
Construction of the T-Mall flyover by Spanish engineering company CENTUNION began in November
2020 as an ultimate solution to traffic congestion in and out of the capital.
The bridge links Lang’ata and Karen, the Wilson airport, army barracks and Nairobi
national park.
Vehicles headed to
Ongata Rongai and Magadi will now be passing over the elevated road while those
headed to Mbagathi Road, South C, Wilson Airport will use the underpass.
The project is
implemented under a Public-Private Partnership between the Government of Kenya
and the Government of the Kingdom of Spain.
