Suspected narcotics nabbed at JKIA being ferried to US, Australia
Anti-narcotics detectives at the Jomo
Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi on Tuesday intercepted four
consignments that were suspected to have concealed narcotic substances.
According to the Directorate of Criminal
Investigations (DCI), the consignments were destined for Australia, Guinea Republic
and the United States.
They were intercepted following
intelligence leads.
“Three of the consignments had been
declared as loincloth while the fourth had been declared as an automobile air
conditioner,” detectives said in a report on Wednesday.
Police did not immediately confirm any arrests and the shipment has since been handed over
to the government chemist for further analysis.
