Suspect arrested in Kisumu after police raid uncovers weapons stash

Police in Kisumu have detained a suspect at the Kondele Police Station after a cache of crude weapons was discovered at his residence in Manyatta. 

The weapons, which include machetes, knives, military boots, radios, and swords, are believed by authorities to have been used in the commission of various crimes.

Kisumu County Police Commander Kizito Mutoro stated that the police are actively pursuing the suspect's accomplice, who remains at large. 

Mutoro emphasised that they have obtained crucial leads regarding his whereabouts.

The suspect was apprehended following a well-coordinated ambush by police, acting on a tip-off. 

Speaking to the press at the Kondele Police Station, where the recovered items were displayed, Mutoro reiterated that such criminal gangs have no place in Kisumu.

Mutoro further revealed that the suspect had been operating from three different houses in the area, with the raided house serving as the storage site for the weapons. 

He confirmed that the suspect will be arraigned in court and issued a stern
