Super Metro takes action on reckless driver spotted making a U-turn on Thika Superhighway

Citizen Digital first reported the sighting of the unnamed driver who was recorded making a daring about turn right on the highway in broad daylight.

In the undated video, the minibus belonging to the matatu service operator can be seen idling at an angle on the wrong side of the highway before making a turn and driving right against traffic.

As the driver attempts to negotiate the turn, a motorist in a black vehicle can also be seen attempting to squeeze their way around the mini bus before driving away.

The minibus then drives off - on a lane which is clearly meant for drivers going the opposite direction.

Now, Super Metro, renowned for their orderliness and streamlined public transport services, has revealed that the matter has reached the operator's top officials and that stern action had already been instituted against the errant driver. 

While speaking on X, Super Metro said that the driver had been apprehended and that after being submitted to Central Police Station, he was later picked by Pangani Police where the incident was first reported.

"Following today's incident of one of our drivers on Thika Road, we would like to inform the public that the driver has been apprehended by our company inspectors following his misconduct of making a U-turn on the Thika Super highway endangering other road users," they tweeted.

"He was submitted to Central Police Station then later picked by Pangani Police where the incident was reported and from there, will be arraigned in court... Thank you for your continued support." 

From the video shared on X, a huge traffic snarl-up can be seen on the opposite lane - an indication that, maybe, the minibus was attempting to beat traffic.
