National Assembly speaker Justin Muturi now says that he will firmly prosecute all leaders implicated on corruption should he clinch the presidential seat in the August elections.

Muturi, who has declared his candidacy for the presidency in August, claims that his government will not save any leader accused of corruption, suggesting that and that they should be paraded in a park and 'the firing squad called in.'

"A Muturi led government will make it easy to prosecute by using the Auditor General's report as a reference point. It will not be business as usual. Corrupt leaders should be taken to a park and the firing squad called in," Speaker Muturi wrote on his twitter account.

Speaker Muturi also emphasized that graft continues to have an impact on the country's economy, insisting that more action be taken against graft perpetrators in order to eradicate it.

"We're experiencing high cost of living because of corruption. I don't understand why corruption cases take so long to conclude, yet graft is the core cause of economic problems the country faces," read the statement.

"The Constitution sets the hearing of a presidential Election dispute to a time frame of 14 days, yet some of the biggest corruption cases never come to a conclusion."
