Sixteen passengers injured as Nissan matatu veers off the road along Kisumu-Busia highway
A Nissan matatu veered off the road and landed in a ditch at
Kisian along the Kisumu-Busia highway on Saturday evening.
Sixteen passengers aboard the vehicle suffered cuts and bruises
and were admitted at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital
(JOOTRH).
The accident happened as the vehicle was getting into Kisumu
from the Busia direction.
This occurred a day after a Mombasa-bound bus collided with
a fuel tanker in the Mundika area in Busia County, killing two people and
injuring five other people on Friday.
The bus belonging to Tahmeed Company was ferrying passengers
from Busia heading to Mombasa before it collided head-on with the petrol
trailer that was headed in the opposite direction.
