Six people who were found guilty of killing former Juja Member of Parliament George Thuo are set to be sentenced on June 21, 2024.

The six are; Paul Wanaina Boiyo alias Sheki, Christopher Lumbazio Andika alias Lumba, Andrew Karanja Wainaina, Samuel Kuria Ngungi alias Visi, Esther Ndinda Mulinge, and Ruth Watahi Irungu alias Atlanta.

The Milimani High Court in April this year ruled that the six jointly poisoned Thuo at Club Porkies in Kiambu County in 2013 by lacing his drink with cyhalothrine pesticide.

The prosecution on Tuesday prayed for the court to slap the convicts with the maximum sentence, arguing that they should not be granted leniency as they showed no remorse in committing the crime.

The deceased’s wife, who was also present in court, said Thuo was perfectly health before the fateful meeting with the six convicts where he met his end.

“When given an opportunity to speak, the deceased’s wife told justice Roseline Korir that her husband was in good health before his unexpected death, which occurred while he was in the company of the convicted individuals,” the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) said in a statement.

“According to the probation officer’s report, the victim’s family called for a fairly lengthy sentence, emphasizing the need for justice.
