The hawkers were caught off guard as inspectors moved in on the busy street, confiscating the illegal products and taking the suspects into custody.
Stephen Pesa, an inspector with the board, said hawking pesticides is illegal and poses a serious risk to public health and safety.
Pesa warned that the chemicals are dangerous and not safe for human use when sold without regulation or proper handling.
He added that the board will continue carrying out similar enforcement operations to curb the illegal sale of pesticides.
Speaking in Kisumu, Pesa cautioned traders against selling pesticides along the streets, noting that the board will take stern action against anyone found violating the law.
