'We stole votes for President Kenyatta,' Moses Kuria claims
Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has claimed that he and other political leaders helped President Uhuru Kenyatta secure victory in the previous elections through dubious means.
The MP who was speaking during the United Democratic Alliance
(UDA) party’s NDC faulted President Kenyatta accusing him of sidelining DP Ruto and his allies despite
being the team that propelled him to clinch the top seat under the Jubilee
coalition in 2013 and 2017.
"Kuna wengine wanasema ati kura ya mlima itagawanywa; mheshimiwa Ann Waiguru, Rigathi Gachagua, Muthomi Njuki, Kimani Ichung’wa, Senator Linturi, Alice Wahome, Faith Gitau, Kimani wa Matangi…Sisi ndio tulikuwa tukishikilia Uhuru kura, na sisi ndio tulikuwa tunamuibia kura,” Kuria stated.
Kuria went forth to argue that the vote-rich Mount Kenya region would
unanimously back the DP just the way they had rallied behind the UhuRuto
government in 2013.
“Akili yote iliyoweka Uhuru kwenye kiti, yote iko hapa, ile
iliokuwa kule Azimio ni mwili tu,” Kuria noted.
The legislator, who is eyeing the Kiambu Governor's seat, pledged his support for DP
Ruto whom he described as "a good-natured person who keeps
his word."
He added: “You might be a good leader, politician and party
leader but one thing I am sure you are a good human being and that makes a big
difference. Supporting a good human being is more important than supporting a
good leader because we can take your word.”
The Kiambu gubernatorial aspirant and Chama Cha Kazi party leader further exuded confidence
that Ruto would be the undisputed victor in the August
Presidential polls by trouncing all other candidates vying for the seat.
