Police have arrested a 29-year-old suspect in Nairobi's Huruma area over suspicion of murdering his wife.

This is after the officers on patrol intercepted John Kiama Wambua who was walking along Kelly Towers at 5:00 am on Tuesday, January 21.

Upon searching the bag, they found the body parts of a human being.

Wambua confessed to the authorities that the body parts belonged to his wife, Joy Fridah Munani aged 19. He also led them to his house where more dismembered parts were recovered beneath his bed.

Further, a blood-stained kitchen knife and female clothes were recovered from the crime scene. The floor was stained with blood; indicating the gory nature of which Munani died.

The body parts were moved to the City Mortuary awaiting postmortem analysis.

Wambua was taken into custody at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) offices in Starehe as officers commenced investigations to establish the motive behind the murder.
