Ten more bodies have been exhumed as police
officers continue to comb through Shakahola Forest in Kilifi County where victims
of a suspected starvation cult are believed to have been buried.
The
recovery brings the tally of bodies retrieved from the forest so far to 211, Coast Regional Commissioner Rhoda Onyancha said on Tuesday.
According
to police reports, out of the recovered bodies, two of them were children.
The
operation also saw three people, all of them male, rescued while in critical
condition.
The total tally of those rescued from the
forest have now hit 84, while the number of those suspected missing has risen to
610.
At the same time, four men who detectives
allege may have been supervisors of the fast were also arrested.
Controversial
pastor Paul Mackenzie Nthenge of the Good News International Church is in the
middle of the massacre after he reportedly instructed his followers to starve
themselves in order to "meet Jesus."
Mackenzie
who is still on trial has not yet been charged.
