Sh20m raised so far as NASA supporters ‘buy ticket to Canaan’
NASA effort to raise campaign funds from the public has so far raised Ksh2o million, a week after the initiative was launched.
Nearly half of the donations are from small donors, who have given Ksh1000 or less, which NASA co-principal Musalia Mudavadi says far outpaces their expectations at the time of the launch.
“I am especially grateful to those who gave as little as Ksh5, Ksh10 and Ksh20, they are the heart of the movement. Whether you donated Ksh 20 or 20,000 or 2 million, you are now plugged into the journey to bring electoral justice and accountability to Kenya. Your cents have become Ksh20 million,” reads the statement sent to newsroom.
The ANC leader has pleaded with Kenyans to continue giving, and even donate on behalf of their friends and loved ones.
Jubilee leaders have mocked the opposition for soliciting funds from the public and scolded them for threatening to boycott the October 17 presidential poll even after receiving the money, an act they claim is outright robbery.
