Sarah Wairimu demands return of matrimonial property after Tob Cohen murder case withdrawn
Sarah Wairimu, wife of the late Dutch businessman Tob
Cohen, is demanding for the immediate release of their matrimonial property after the murder case against her was dropped and the matter
turned into an inquest.
Wairimu is now free from the shackles of a murder trial
she describes as torture for the last three years.
“Sarah was in possession of her matrimonially co-owned
home by the time of her arrest, so the law is clear, release the property to
her together with all her contents, release her passport, release her pet dog,”
her lawyer Philip Murgor said.
Through Murgor, Wairimu also took a stab at former
Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti accusing him of
manipulation, citing inconsistencies in the evidence tabled against her
“DCI Kinoti has held Wairimu’s matrimonial home as a
crime scene for three years to provide an advantage to the siblings of Tob
Cohen who also claim the same property on grounds of a disputed will which a
reputable examiner has found to be forged,” said Murgor.
Wairimu has demanded that the DPP, IG and DCI release her
property which she claims has been destroyed and for which she will seek
compensation from those responsible.
She is only too aware of the divide between her and her
deceased husband's side of the family
“I have seen my in-laws attacking me like I did not
exist. I have known my husband since I was twenty three and you cannot tell me
I did not exist, you can’t say we did not have a life together,” said Wairimu.
She added that she is looking forward to the inquest
filed by the DPP on Tob Cohen's murder.
“Avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath
for it is written, vengeance is mine I will repay, says the Lord,” said Wairimu.
The widow says she will observe before deciding
on whether to participate in the inquest.
