Sambaza Furaha na Safaricom caravan celebrates 24 years of service with Western Kenya tour

The Sambaza Furaha na Safaricom caravan has entered its third week, continuing its journey across Western Kenya.

The caravan, which celebrates Safaricom's 24 years of service to Kenyans, has been making stops in various counties, rewarding loyal customers with giveaways.

This week, the caravan passed through Kisumu, Kakamega, and will conclude its tour in Bungoma County.

The journey began in Kondele, a lively neighborhood in Kisumu, where hundreds of residents gathered for the festivities. At each stop, customers were given the chance to win gifts and other merchandise as part of Safaricom’s customer recognition initiative.

"At every stop, the excitement has been overwhelming, with residents eager to participate in the celebrations and show their support for Safaricom," said Ben Kirui, reporting from Bungoma County.

In addition to the giveaways, the caravan is part of a collaboration between Safaricom and Royal Media Services, under the campaign Sambaza Furaha na Safaricom Hii Krisi. The campaign rewards thousands of Safaricom customers across the region for their loyalty to the telecommunications giant.

"We are excited to celebrate our 24th anniversary with our customers across Kenya. This initiative allows us to give back to those who have supported us over the years," said Sizwe Awuor, Director of Brand and Marketing at Safaricom.

Gunilla Ouko, Regional Business Lead for Safaricom’s Greater Western Region, also highlighted the importance of these celebrations in strengthening relationships with customers. "The caravan is a chance for us to directly connect with the people who have helped us grow over the years," she noted.

The tour also offers fans of Mulembe FM, Radio Citizen, and Vuuka a chance to interact with their favorite radio presenters, including Diana Makokha and Pamela Kadima, Head of Mulembe FM.

On its second day this week, the caravan will travel through Mayanja, Harambee, Koyonzo, Ogalo, Mumias, and Kakamega, bringing the celebrations to even more communities across Western Kenya.
