Safaricom, RMS caravan rewards Nairobi residents for the third day
For the third day running, the Sambaza Furaha
na Safaricom Caravan camped in Nairobi County sharing goodies with Dandora,
Huruma, City Stadium and Kayole residents.
With every stop, a customer walked away with
either a chicken, goat, phone or gift hampers containing food items. Not
forgetting airtime as Safaricom kept to its promise of connecting Kenyans.
Mary Nabwire, a phone winner, said: “Nilikuwa
namiss kuuza online kwa sababu wakati unafanya marketing online inakuimarisha
kimaisha..”
The celebration also provided an opportunity
for business operators to get educated on new ways of doing business and
ensuring that their money is safe through Pochi la Biashara.
Emily Atieno, a business operator at Nyama
Esther Waititu, the Chief Financial Services
Officer, M-Pesa said: “We have offers for businesses, today we have spent time
with businesses, we have 25% offer off on fibre.”
And as it is the norm of every celebration, music
and entertainment was the order of the day. Presenters from Royal Media
Services radio stations were at hand to interact with their fans and also
spread joy.
Tina Ogal, Acting Head of Radio Citizen,
stated: “As Safaricom marks its 24th birthday, M-Pesa which will mark 18 years
in March 2025 recorded a milestone after surpassing 34 million customers as of
November 30th.”
The Sambaza Furaha na Safaricom caravan is on
Thursday expected to tour Kiambu County with stops in Ruaka, Ruiru, Kimbo,
Juja, Kirigiti and Weiteithie.
