Safaricom brings joy to Machakos residents with Sambaza Furaha caravan
The Safaricom Sambaza Furaha caravan
traversed Machakos County for the second day as the giant mobile service
provider continued celebrating December festivities with its customers.
The caravan snaked through Machakos,
Kathiani, Tala, and Kamulu areas, giving residents a chance to interact with
their favorite presenters from Musyi FM and Radio Citizen and benefit from the
gifts.
The caravan was well received in Machakos
town as the team camped in the Lower Eastern region.
Musicians from the Ukambani region entertained
residents, who were later sensitized on Safaricom's services, including voice
and data offers, and educated on how to detect fraud.
"Watu wanatapeliwa wakisema wao ni wa
Safaricom… we are creating that awareness," Eunice Kanini, Safaricom's Territory
Business Lead, Machakos, said.
Residents also received goodies, including
goats, chickens, food hampers, and airtime.
"Nimezawadika kwa kuku, hongera kwa
Safaricom." Phoebe Muli, a Machakos resident, said.
"Nimekutana na watu wa Safaricom
nikashinda mbuzi, nimeshukuru," Billy Mwangani, another resident, said.
The caravan later toured Kathiani, Tala, and
Kamulu areas.
"I want to thank all of you for getting
us to 34 million customers. We want to do a lot more. To the merchants and
customers, there is e-commerce going on," Esther Waititu, Chief Financial
Officer, Safaricom, said.
Safaricom also launched outlets in Machakos
and Kathiani towns as part of the company's effort to bring services closer to
the people.
"It's all about celebrating 24 years of
service to Kenyans... they should expect a lot of prizes. We are celebrating as
a partnership between Royal Media... tukisema asante na telling people Merry
Christmas," Fred Afune, Director of ICT at Royal Media Services (RMS)
said.
