President William Ruto's allies sustained their onslaught against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his population-based revenue-sharing formula terming it as divisive.

The leaders led by Majority Leader Kimani Ichungwa in Migori County accused the deputy president of hatching a plot to undermine the president and his duties.

Ichung'wa and Majority Whip in the National Assembly Sylvanus Osoro tore into Gachagua leading the beeline attack and accused President Ruto's deputy of what they termed as political bad manners.

The leaders accused the DP of leading a government destabilization campaign in the Mt. Kenya region and undermining President Ruto's administration.

“You want other leaders to follow you so that you can blackmail the president…we are not going to tolerate bad manners,” Ichung’wa said.

Yesterday while in Kasarani, the deputy president said his remarks are based on what he is gathering on the ground, particularly on the population-based revenue-sharing formula.

“Mtu mwingine jana anasema ati anasikiza ground…ati mimi nimesikia ground…Ooh nazungumza lugha ya ground...ground gani na kila siku ukiangalia kwa TV ni Nairobi, Mathira, Nairobi, Mathira,” said Osoro.

Ichung’wa added: “If you tell us you are listening to the ground listen to the ground of Kuria people. Listen to the ground of Turkana, listen to the Northeastern region because they are also Kenyans.”

The leaders also opposed the one man, one vote, one shilling formula propagated by the deputy president.

“Treat us equally...when times come we shall ask you zile ndege zote unataka na hii one man one shilling imetusaidia wapi?” said Migori Governor Ochilo Ayacko.

President Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet on his part said, “Wale wanatugawanya kwa ukabila wakristo sisi tunasema watashindwa na watashindwa kila wakati.”

Another team that was in Turkana County led by Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen accused unnamed persons sitting in the cabinet of misrepresenting the government agenda at the grassroots level.

“Tukikaa kwa cabinet wote tunapitisha hakuna mtu anapinga lakini akienda huko kwa wananchi anaongea tofauti hiyo ni unafiki,” Murkomen stated.

Mogotio MP Reuben Kiborek added: “Those are individuals who are hiding behind their tribes they lack ideas to move this country forward.”
