Ruto to sit in moderated panel with U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce said on Monday that the duo will appear at the U.S.-Kenya Business Forum, hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s U.S.-Africa Business Center.
Harris is said to have been a staunch advocate for innovation, ingenuity, and entrepreneurship across Africa through investments from the US.
"Building on her trip to Africa in March and April 2023, the Vice President will speak about public and private sector efforts to increase investment in digital inclusion across Africa, and the strong partnership between the United States and Kenya on technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship," read a statement in part.
VP Harris also convened business and philanthropic leaders in Lusaka, Zambia on April 2023, to advance efforts to promote digital inclusion in Africa and to build upon the more than $8 billion in public and private investments.
Part of Ruto's agenda for his US visit is to foster development by attracting more investment opportunities from the Western nation.
He is expected to emphasize the same during his meeting with President Joe Biden and echo the same while meeting a congressional delegation and holding discussions at Capital Hill.
He departed Kenya on Sunday night and is set to hold his first engagement on Monday evening.
