Ruto government ready to work with Nyanza leaders, CS Owalo says
The Kenya Kwanza government, led by President
William Ruto is ready to work with the Nyanza leadership for empowerment of the
locals, the Cabinet Secretary for Information, the Communication and Digital Economy,
Eliud Owalo has said.
Speaking during a food distribution
exercise on Sunday, Owalo called on both elected and non-elected leaders from
the region to take advantage of the government’s open policy to help drive the
economic agenda of the area.
The CS, who was flanked by among others,
Suba south MP, Caroli Omondi, former Rangwe MP Martin Ogindo and the Ugunja sub
county deputy county commissioner, Felix Watakila said the current government was
committed to implementing promises it made to Kenyans during the campaigns.
He said that the Ruto-led government has no
time for empty rhetoric and will only engage in economic development politics.
“At the tail end of our term, we would wish
that the Kenya Kwanza government is held accountable by the delivery of the promises
that we made” said Owalo.
He called on the national government
administration officers to ensure that the relief food supplies go to the
intended beneficiaries, adding that cases of food dissapearance will not be
tolerated.
