Speaking in Kwale County during a Special Programmes outreach, Ruku cautioned residents against attempting to cross flooded rivers, warning that such actions could lead to tragic consequences.
He emphasized that no one should risk their life for any reason, noting that fast-rising waters have already posed serious danger in several regions.
The CS assured citizens that the government is fully prepared to respond to any emergencies arising from the ongoing heavy rains.
Ruku said adequate resources have been set aside to support individuals and families who may be affected by floods across the country.
He noted that disaster response teams are on standby and working closely with local administrators to ensure swift intervention where needed.
During the visit, the Cabinet Secretary distributed relief food to affected residents in Kwale, reaffirming the government’s commitment to cushioning vulnerable communities.
He maintained that no Kenyan will suffer hunger under the leadership of President William Ruto, saying the government has secured sufficient food supplies and aid to assist those in need.
Ruku added that strategic measures have been put in place to enhance food security and strengthen support systems during times of crisis.
Turning to political matters, the CS criticized leaders he accused of engaging in divisive and rhetorical politics, saying such individuals have no development agenda for Kenyans.
He defended the administration, stating that the government of President Ruto is steadily delivering on its promises to the people.
Ruku further expressed confidence in Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, describing him as a dependable leader committed to working alongside President Ruto to advance the country’s development agenda.
