The Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority (UFAA) is holding unclaimed financial assets amounting to  Ksh.60 billion, with the majority of Kenyans unaware of their eligibility for the benefits.

Speaking when he flagged off a sensitization program in Kerugoya, Kirinyaga County on Wednesday, UFAA Chairman Dr. Francis Kigo highlighted that a large number of Kenyans have yet to access the assets primarily due to a lack of information about them.

Kigo similarly mentioned that the process of identifying the rightful owners of these assets faces various challenges, including data regarding their initial status.

He however noted that sensitization campaigns will contribute to increasing Kenyans' knowledge about their unclaimed assets.

According to financial expert Simon Kanyingi, the return of the unclaimed amount to Kenyans could potentially result in noticeable economic growth being observed across the country.
