Rainfall to continue in several parts of Kenya up to Tuesday: Met Dept

An advisory from the meteorological agency said isolated
heavy rainfall events are likely in the central Kenya
regions of Embu, Tharaka and Kirinyanga, as well as parts of Uasin Gishu.
In the capital Nairobi, heavy rainfall is
expected in the Dagoretti North and Westlands areas.
Earlier, on Sunday, the Met Department
issued an advisory warning of rainfall across Western Kenya, the Rift Valley, Central
Highlands (including Nairobi), the Lake Victoria Basin, parts of the
South-Eastern Lowlands, parts of the Coast, North-Eastern, and North-Western
regions.
It said isolated storms and heavy rainfall
events were likely in some areas.
Kenya is recording the onset of the "long
rains" season, the major rainfall period which typically occurs from
March to May.
